Kimberly Amole - Instructor

Kimberly Amole


Assoc. Healthcare Tech., Bach. Allied Health, CPT, CET

Kimberly has several years experience in fire and EMS. She spent 3 years as a substitute teacher, first responder, and safety officer at her daughters school. She worked as an On-site Phlebotomist/Lab Technician before becoming an instructor. She is also a BLS Instructor through Centra Health. Before joining ANU in 2018, Kimberly was a Medical Program Instructor at Miller-Motte Technical College.

Rossana Aragon - Instructor

Rossana Aragon


B.A., M.Ed. TESOL Candidate

Rossana Aragon has worked extensively in the ESL field both as an instructor and as a teacher trainer in Cusco-Peru. As an academic coordinator, Rossana has developed teaching training programs and class materials for ICPNA Cusco-Peru. She holds a Bachelors in Arts degree in Education with major in English from Federico Villareal University in Lima-Peru. She has also completed coursework towards an MA in TESOL instruction at Piura University in Peru. Rossana has been a keynote speaker in various ESL workshops throughout Peru. She has been a proctor for Michigan international examinations as well.

Felix Baez worked as a Senior Data Analyst for a Telecommunications Auditing company before coming to National College. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and has obtained his CompTIA Network+ certification. Felix is an instructor of Information Systems Engineering courses and the Bachelor of Information Technology courses, and he currently serves as Director of IT programs at the Harrisonburg Campus.

Judith Bateman - Instructor

Judith Bateman



Judith Bateman holds a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology and a master's degree in Industrial Management. She has worked in various hospitals throughout her career, culminating with a position she held for seven years in the UVA Medical Center Virology/Microbiology Department. She previously served as a Research and Development Microbiologist/QA Microbiologist for 20 years. Judith has been an instructor at the Lynchburg Campus since 2009.

Mathew S. George has served in a variety of management and accounting positions in the business and not-for-profit sectors, has owned a travel agency and a real estate business, and was a realtor licensed in the state of Virginia. Mathew received his Bachelor of Science degree in management from Brigham Young University and his Master of Business Administration degree from Virginia Tech. He teaches business, marketing, and management courses and is chair of the business management programs for the American National University Roanoke Valley Campus and the Online program. Mathew is also an ACICS evaluator and performs accreditation visits at other colleges across the country.

Dana Leland - Instructor

Dana Leland



Dana Leland is a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Incarnate Word, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas- San Antonio, a Master of Science in Taxation degree from Florida Atlantic University, and a PhD in finance from NorthCentral University. Dana's professional experience includes working in both the public and private accounting sectors. She currently does consulting work in the tax and finance area and is an instructor for the American National University online program.

Paula Muir - Senior Instructor

Paula Muir holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration and is a Registered Health Information Technician. She has worked in the traditional Acute Care setting for over 40 years, with 30 of those years having been devoted to Health Information Management (HIM) as the Director and 5 years were as Director of Clinical Support and Physician Services as well as Performance Improvement and Reengineering. She also worked for 6 years as Director of Transcription Services (HIM) for an Outsourcing Company. Paula has served as an instructor at Kent State University and Trumbull County Joint Vocational School, as well as an independent HIM consultant. She currently teaches the Health Information Management core classes at the ANU.

Carolyn Scott - Dean of Business

Dean of Business


Dr. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from Argosy University, a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from South University, and a Doctor of Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from Argosy University. Her research was recently published in the International Journal of Business and Public Administration. She is a frequent speaker at the fall academic conference sponsored by the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines. Dr. Scott has worked in higher education since 2007 in many different capacities. She has served as an assistant director of admissions, director of admissions, student success advisor, faculty member, program director, and dean. Her career prior to higher education was primarily in the airline and publishing industries. In the airline industry she started as an agent and worked her way up to executive management. In the publishing industry she started as an advertising executive and worked her way up to publisher.

Charles Sherback - Instructor

Charlie Sherback has spent over twenty years in the Casino Industry, and has helped open seven casinos. He has worked various positions in Finance and IT, including Sr. System Support Specialist, Sr. Operations Analyst, Financial Analysis Manager, and Regional Planning & Analysis Manager. He received an associate degree from Middlesex Community College and a bachelor's degree in Management from the University of Massachusetts Boston. While working in Atlantic City, he earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Monmouth University. He is currently an instructor of Business and Accounting courses, along with Prep Math, Prep English, and other General Education courses at the Harrisonburg Campus.

Beth Stewart - Instructor

Beth Stewart


B.A., M.A.

Beth Stewart holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Indiana University and a Master of Arts degree in sociology from Ball State University. She has been teaching at the college-level since 1993 and online since 2003. She primarily teaches social science courses but also mathematics, computer software, freshmen success classes, and online communications. She lives in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pamela Van Nutt worked as a computer programmer within business and academia for 10 years while living in New York. She has been an instructor at the Martinsville Campus for the past 10 years and has been Department Chair for the Computer Application Technology program for much of that time. Pam teaches COM and ISE courses. She obtained a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York- Institute of Technology.
