Harold Bender - Instructor

Harold Bender


B.S., PharmD

Dr. Harold Bender holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Lamar University and is a graduate of the University of Houston Pharmacy School, where he received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy. He has been an instructor at the Nashville Campus for 10 years.

Carlos Black - Instructor

Carlos Black



Carlos Black is presently a Regulatory Analyst and has a background in public utility regulation as both an Investigator and Analyst. He also has more than 15 years of teaching experience at the career and technical college level. Carlos received his bachelor's degree from the University of Memphis and his master's degree in business education from Middle Tennessee State University. Carlos is past-president of both the Tennessee Business Education Association and the Gamma Eta chapter of Delta Pi Epsilon, a national graduate honor society for professionals in business education. He teaches keyboarding, business, and medical assisting courses at the National College of Business & Technology Nashville and Madison Campuses.

Shalanda Buchanan - Instructor

Shalanda Buchanan



Shalanda Buchanan has worked as a pharmacy technician for more than 10 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and is a Certified Pharmacy Techinician (CPhT). She teaches Dosages and Calculations, Pharmacology, and Pharmacy Practice courses at the Nashville and Madison Campuses.

Evelyn Dallas received her Bachelor of Science degree from David Lipscomb College. She taught in New Jersey, Virginia, and Tennessee in the areas of secretarial science and English. Evelyn is now an instructor of English and administrative office-related courses at the Nashville and Madison Campuses and serves as the general education department chair at the Nashville Campus.

Nicole Dietz - Instructor

Nicole Dietz



Nicole Dietz received an associate degree in Health Information Technology (HIT) and Medical Assisting from Draughons Junior College. She is an instructor for the HIT program at the Madison and Nashville Campuses.

Atim Henshaw holds a Bachelor of Science degree in health administration, a Master of Business administration degree in health care management, and is a PhD candidate for a degree in public health. She is an instructor at the Nashville Campus.

George Huffman has been the president and owner of two businesses. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati and his Master of Public Administration degree from New York University. He teaches Management and Business Law courses at the Nashville Campus.

Department Chair - Business Management


Glenn Hunter is an entrepreneur and business consultant who has most recently worked at a consulting firm that provides business development training and consulting to Certified Public Accountants. Glenn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in social science from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Business Administration degree from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He has been published in accounting journals and multiple accounting state society magazines. Furthermore, Glenn contributes to his community as President of the Board of Directors for the United Neighborhood Health Services, a network of community health centers in Middle Tennessee, and he is a founding board member of Knowledge Academies, a leading charter school in Antioch, TN. Glenn teaches economics, business math, algebra, principles of management, and ethics courses at the Nashville Campus and also serves as department chair for the business programs.

David Lampi - Instructor

David Lampi



David Lampi has been an instructor of business and economics courses at National College of Business & Technology since 2006. Prior to NCBT, he taught for 10 years in the Tennessee Public School System and was a Varsity High School football coach for three schools in Tennessee. David has also taught business & economics courses for schools in Kentucky and Michigan, while also coaching football & basketball. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business and economics.

Angela McDonald - Instructor

Angela McDonald has been an instructor with National College of Business & Technology since 2007, where she teaches Medical Assisting, Health Information Technology, and General Education courses. She also leads a coding clinic each term for students who need extra coding help. Under the supervision of the Director of Health Care Education, Angela is the lead instructor over the Medical Office Assistant and the Medical Office Specialist programs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and library science and an Associate of Science degree in health information technology and medical assisting. She is currently an instructor at both the Madison and Nashville Campuses.

Theresa Miller - Instructor

Theresa Miller



Theresa A. Miller is an instructor at the Nashville and Madison Campuses. She has professional experience in the areas of business, healthcare, financial operations, educational programming, instructional curriculum design, and administration. She has been in the educational and healthcare arena for 27 years, primarily in the area if medical billing and coding. Theresa began her career as a Certified Medical Assistant and went further to obtain a bachelors degree and a Master of Business Administration degree. She also earned several certificates in the training and development arena and completed a Master of Arts degree in training and development.

Jackie Pair - Instructor

Jackie Pair



Jackie Pair is a 30-year retired Army veteran and is currently working as a Vocational Development Specialist. Her military and civilian backgrounds include veterinary medicine, computer systems, recruiting, and human resources. Jackie has a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, a graduate certification in Organizational Leadership, and a Master of Science degree in HR Management from Chapman University. She serves on several non-profit boards and is active in veterans causes, especially those involving women. She is an instructor at the National College Nashville Campus.

Tracy Ross has spent over 15 years in financial and operations management for small businesses in the Middle Tennessee area. Her diverse experience and education have provided her with a thorough knowledge of all details pertaining to a company's financial operations and business management. Tracy is a graduate of Tennessee State University with both a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting, and a master of Business Administration degree with a focus in management and small business Development. She is an instructor of accounting courses at the Madison and Nashville Campuses and serves as the accounting department chair at the Madison Campus.

Kenneth Shockley - Director of IT Programs

Kenneth Shockley has worked in the information technology field for 15 years. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from American Intercontinental University. He teaches a variety of information systems engineering and computer courses at the Nashville Campus, where he also currently serves as director of the information technology programs.

Ro Tran received his bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Western Kentucky University. He is also a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and a Web Designer. He is an instructor of Microsoft Office, Spreadsheet Applications, and Desktop Applications courses at the Nashville Campus.

Director of Health Care Education


John Wallace is the Director of Health Care Education at National College of Business & Technology in Nashville. He received his bachelor's degree in health sciences from Trident University. John Spent 24 years serving in the U.S. Coast Guard before becoming a teacher. His career as a health services technician included a wide variety of assignments, including Independent Duty Corpsman aboard three of the Coast Guard's largest ships.

Debora Ward



Debora Ward is a purchasing agent, as well as an insurance agent. She has been an instructor at National College since 2003. She has a bachelor's degree in business administration and is presently pursuing a Master of Accounting degree at Strayer University.

Colin Watts holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Morehouse College, a Master of Public Administration degree in Public Health from Troy State University, and participated in the AFROTC program through Georgia Technical Institute of Technology. He is an instructor at the National College of Business & Technology Madison and Nashville Campuses.

Joe Wheeler - Instructor

Joe Wheeler



Joe Wheeler holds a bachelor's degree in business administration- marketing from Tennessee Technological University, a Master of Public Administration degree in health care administration from Western Michigan University, and is a Certified Medical Practice Executive through the Medical Group Management Association. Joe's forty years of experience includes management of multi and single specialty medical practices in California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Tennessee. He has also served as a private consultant to physicians and hospitals. Joe has direct experience in the development of alternative health delivery systems such as surgical centers, birthing centers, pathology laboratories, rural primary care centers, management service organizations, and home health agencies. A former hospital administrator, he has held positions in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors, most recently with the Sisters of St. Joseph Health System. Having served on the Kentucky Board for Rural Health Care and as a member of the Medical Group Management Association, Association of Physician Recruiters, and American Society of Management Consulting, Joe's special interests include practice marketing, physician recruitment, consulting, practice financial management, and development of new sources of revenue. As a National College of Business & Technology instructor, Joe brings a combination of real world health care management experience, five years of career training, and eight years of corporate seminar experience.
