From Route 460-W: Turn onto Hilltop Dr/CR-38/4/CR-460/1/Harman Branch RD. Turn right at the "T" intersection at the end of the road. The campus entrance will be on your right.
The key to our success is a faculty of Professional Instructors with Industry Experience. Drawing on personal insights, our instructors provide students with a real-world perspective to prepare them for success in well-defined fields of employment.
At American National University we emphasize individual attention for our students, from enrollment to graduation with frequent and helpful faculty interaction every step of the way. Our class sizes are smaller, with an average of 15:1 student-to-faculty ratio, allowing for one-on-one interaction with instructors.
Our Faculty at a Glance
Raymond Hahn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Math & Physics and a Master of Science degree in Mathematics, both from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He also has earned a Wisconsin State Teaching License for grades 9-12. He has 39 years of experience teaching mathematics and science at the college level, high school level, and the one-on-one settings of private tutoring and home-schooling. In addition to his teaching career, Raymond has worked on and was responsible for the design, writing, and maintenance for one of the first microcomputer-based CAD/CAM products.
Sharon Harding obtained an associate degree in Medical Assisting from National College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Concord University. She has been an instructor at National since 1998, where she teaches Medical Assisting and Medical Billing and Coding courses
Department Chair - General Education
Deborah Jackson began her teaching career in the Tazewell County Virginia Public School system where she taught English for eight years. She also worked in her father's family-owned finance business for 22 years. She is an instructor at ANU's Princeton Campus in the general education department, where she is the department chairperson. Deborah's specializations include English and Social Science courses. She has a bachelor's degree in Education and a master's in Instruction and Curriculum.
Department Chair - Information Technology
Sammy J. Martin is the owner of Able and Associates Investigations and Forensics Consulting LLC, a private investigations firm located in Princeton, WV and specializing in computer forensics, network security, network intrusion, and eDiscovery investigations. He has over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, previously served as a vice president in the Los Angeles office of Duff and Phelps, LLC, and was part of the Dispute & Legal Management Consulting Practice, where he managed the Los Angeles Forensics Laboratory. He also previously worked as a Special Agent of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) where he specialized in the investigation of environmental and major government procurement frauds and was one of the first Special Agents assigned to conduct computer forensic analysis and investigate intrusions into the Department of the Navy's computer networks systems. He then worked as a Special Agent of the NASA Office of Inspector General (OIG) at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA, where he was responsible for conducting investigations relating to fraud, waste and abuse of NASA assets and programs, and specialized in computer forensics and network intrusion investigation. Sammy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from North Carolina Wesleyan College and currently serves as Information Technology department chair at the ANU Princeton Campus.
Bobby Redd holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Travel Industry Management and a Master of Science degree in Strategic Leadership. He has worked in management in a variety of business settings and is an instructor at the Princeton Campus.
Director of Health Care Education
AAS, BS, MSEd, RN, RMA (AMT)
Patricia Sell is the medical programs department chair and Director of Health Care Education at American National University's Princeton Campus and has been with the university since 2001. She earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in nursing and a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Fairmont State University, as well as a master's degree in education from Virginia Tech. She has experience as an Associate Head Nurse, Charge Nurse, and In-House Supervisor at hospitals and nursing homes in Morgantown, Fairmont, Princeton, and Bluefield (WV and VA) and most recently worked as a relief hospice nurse. Patricia teaches clinical medical assisting courses, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, human diseases, and healthcare law and ethics courses in addition to monitoring externships and preparing students to take the RMA exam prior to graduation.
Lucille Sisk was Data Processing Manager at Virginia Foods for 10 years. She holds an Associate of Science degree in computer science and a Bachelor of Science degree in math, both from Bluefield State. Lucille has been an instructor at the Princeton Campus since 1989.
Pharmacy Technician Department Chair
Jacqueline Smith is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Pharmacy Technician. She has over 30 years of experience in various areas of the medical field. Jacqueline is an instructor at the Princeton Campus, where she serves as Department Chair of the Pharmacy Technician program.
