Chris Balderson-Instructor-Difference Maker

Apr 26, 2016

Difference Maker Chris Balderson is the lead accounting instructor at the ANU Harrisonburg Campus. He has served as an instructor at ANU for over 15 years.  Chris earned an associate’s degree from Rappahannock Community College, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from James Madison University.  He brings knowledge from the field to his classes each day, which he gained in his career working as General Manager/Training Manager for McDonald’s, and in his current position working as a Senior Tax Manager for Rosetta Stone.

“I am able to discuss accounting regulations with my students and show them how transactions are recorded in an actual accounting department.”

“I enjoy creating projects and assignments that are actually 'real world' accounting scenarios. The students enjoy this as well, because they feel that they will be able to perform well if they are employed in an accounting department.”

“I enjoy creating projects and assignments that are actually 'real world' accounting scenarios."

“The best reward about being a part of the ANU faculty is you are able to form a bond with your students due to the small class sizes, and you are a major part of their college career.”

“I have had several students who first began in Accounting I feeling unsure about the course.  The big transformation was watching these students change their major to accounting after completing Accounting I.”

Photo-Accounting instructor Chris Balderson has been inspiring his students at the ANU Harrisonburg Campus for over 15 years.
