American National University Now Offers Master of Science in Cybersecurity
Salem, VA– Do you already possess a bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field or have a bachelor’s degree along with three years of experience in the information technology field? American National University is now offering a Master of Science in Cybersecurity at its Roanoke Valley Campus.
The master’s degree will provide the advanced theory and knowledge that is needed to address today’s increasing security issues and anticipate cyber threats of the future. The program focuses on the advanced prevention, detection, countering and recovery from cyber incidents. Students will learn how to use technical tools and organizational practices such as training, access control, security management, evidence collection, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. A student who completes the Master of Science in Cybersecurity will have the knowledge to become an industry leader who will be able to go from a traditional IT role to someone who designs and implements cybersecurity solutions.
Some of the classes that are included in the curriculum are: Intrusion Detection Attack and Countermeasures, Business and Security Risk Analysis, and Design, Development and Evaluation of Security Controls. Available electives include: Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing and Forensic Evaluation and Analysis.
The estimated time of completion for this master’s degree is just more than two years.
The Roanoke Valley Campus has been offering a career-oriented education to area students since 1886. The next term begins August 22nd, with classes now forming for associate’s degrees in business administration—management, medical assisting and pharmacy technician. In addition, there are short term programs available in phlebotomy + ECG, pharmacy technician, and medical billing and coding.
